The information age has seen an increase in people going from stacking shelves to online stars and self-made millionaires through video and photo-sharing platforms.

1) Find something you are passionate about rather than something that will just make you an income - this way, you are likely to stick to it until you succeed.

2) Become the industry expert by specialising in one field (this can take months, at times even years and requires you to perfect your craft so you can be the go-to person).

3) Define your objectives and target audience - what are their interests? Which social media platforms do they use the most? Which age range are they? What are their interests?

4) Create a product or service around your brand that will help solve a problem for your target audience - you may decide, for example, to offer an ebook, a course or self-publish on Amazon.

5) Measure your key performance indicators - i.e. the things that are working the most, against your objectives.

6) Repeat the things that are giving you the best results.

7) Get a Mentor in the industry who will offer you support, and guidance and will give you a boost of confidence when times get tough, because boy o boy, times will get tough.

8) Don’t take ‘no’ for an answer no matter how many knockbacks and refusals you may receive.

9) Have patience, always show gratitude for your achievements, and remember becoming a successful entrepreneur doesn't just happen overnight.

10) Invest in yourself and your creativity - read biographies written by successful entrepreneurs (ideally the ones in the industry you are venturing into), attend seminars, use LinkedIn, invest in online courses to expand your knowledge and skills, and network, network, network!

Investing in yourself physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially, will open a world full of opportunities allowing you to step into your greatest. When you are operating from your greatness, greatness will have no choice but to find you.
