Moles Almost Covered his Face but Not His Self-confidence

At times, bullying and ridicule occur just because of how someone or things look.
A 24-year-old student, Prabhulal Prasannan from Kerala, India, had been bullied for the moles covering 80% of his face. Suffering from abuse and negative comments, Prasannan had a difficult childhood as his appearance had always been the centre of attention in his local town. Often coming across people who would stare and whisper behind his back, people would often keep their distance from him.
During school years, he would often sit alone as other kids would either be fearful of his facial appearance or just relentlessly bully him. ‘When I was born, outside of the hospital was crowded with people who wanted to see “the different child”. In a way, I have been a celebrity all my life,’ says Prasannan. He questioned God of his existence and why he was born like this.
“I was very sad over my appearance. I had even resisted going to school because I believed I was ugly. But my mother, Bindhu repeatedly taught me that every being in this world has its importance for the way they are.
Those words gave me the courage to accept how I am,” he added.
Isolating himself and withdrawing from social life, Prasannan became afraid to show himself in public. However, after some thought, he decided to embrace his facial appearance to self-validate himself. In 2017, he started posting pictures of himself on social media and to his surprise he received a lot of positive comments from people telling him how inspiring he is and how h inspired them to increase their confidence. Sometimes, self-approval is the only thing that will push you through life when everyone is against you for the wrong reasons. Prasannan, we wish you well!
