Musician Lizzo Addresses 'Fat-shaming and Racist' Comments Following Release of New Single

Abuse is depressingly widespread online, and Twitter is far from the only online arena where trolls and bullies thrive. With over half of young people being bullied online, it comes as no surprise that tales of constant trolling of individuals continue to rise.
Recently brought to tears when addressing online trolls propagating negative comments, Melissa Viviane Jefferson (popularly known as 'Lizzo'), took to Instagram live on Sunday expressing her outrage for the 'fat-shaming and racist' comments following the release of her first single, 'Rumours,' after two years.
“People who have something mean to say about you, and for the most part it doesn’t hurt my feelings, I don’t care. I just think when I’m working this hard, my tolerance gets lower, my patience is lower. I’m more sensitive, and it gets to me.”
Lizzo said.
The track sees the singer slamming how the public perceives her looks and conduct while criticising those who spread rumours online.

"If you don’t like my music cool, if you don’t like Rumors the song, cool but a lot of people don’t like me because of the way I look," Lizzo continued.
According to the Grammy Award-winning singer, the loving energy she attempts to spread isn't reciprocated after placing so much "loving energy into the world," which she claims the world is not loving her back. Lizzo went on to say, "for the most part," the hostility does not harm her feelings, however, her patience and tolerance are strained due to a demanding work schedule.
We love how Lizzo is using her platform highlighting the importance of speaking up against online trolls. This just goes to show that no matter what you are doing in life people will always have something to say, which is why your focus should be on being unapologetically you and the greatest person you can possibly be.
Lizzo's energy is a whole vibe and we are totally here for it!
