Cadbury Celebrates India's Diversity with the 'Unity Bar'

Championing the phrase, 'Unity in Diversity', India, the country full of vibrant communities with each one thriving uniquely in language and heritage, hopes to unite its people of different languages, creed, castes, religion and regions for its 73rd year of Independence.

The 'Unity bar', designed to foster a sense of unity in diversity, represented through a mix of four variations (dark, blended, milk and white chocolate) has already scored some brownie points with its I-Day messaging, raising its voice in a rather unique way.

Winning hearts with its strong yet subtle messaging, Cadbury, one of the most popular, inspiring and timeless brands in the country decided to mix it up with the limited edition chocolate created by Advertising Agency, Ogilvy.

Taking to Twitter to wish a very happy Independence day, Cadbury wrote: “This Independence Day, let's celebrate a country that stands united in its diversity. Presenting the Cadbury Unity Bar, India's first chocolate with dark, blended, milk and white chocolate all under one wrap.”

The limited edition chocolate bar was not the only feature to undergo a change.

The redesign of Cadbury's iconic packaging features an illustration of Indian citizens from various cultural and religious backgrounds uniting by holding hands. In addition to this, a note included in the packaging reads:

"We are all different

You, me, we, us, humanity -

a rainbow of brown,

a giant bouquet of mother tongues,

a churning confluence of cultures.

And it is these differences that make us the same.

All of us equal.

All of us beautiful.

All of us, together under one sky.

To celebrate India's unity in diversity,
